A Grande (16 fl oz) Starbucks Caffè Latte made with 2% milk has 190 calories, 7 g fat, 18 g sugar and 13 g protein. Caffeine is 150 mg. A Short has 100 calories and a Venti has 250. The latte has no syrup by default, so all of its sugar comes from the milk.

What's in a Caffè Latte

A Caffè Latte is Starbucks Signature Espresso with steamed 2% milk and a thin layer of foam. Short and Tall get one shot. Grande and hot Venti get two shots, which is why a hot Venti has the same 150 mg of caffeine as a Grande.

Milk and customization swaps

Swaps are shown as the direction of change against the standard recipe. Starbucks' product pages don't publish per-drink numbers for each swap, so check the Starbucks app or our calculator for an estimate of your exact order.

Swap Effect on calories Notes
Nonfat milk Fewer calories and less fat Protein stays about the same as 2%
Whole milk More calories and fat Creamier; the default in a Flat White
Almondmilk Usually the lowest-calorie milk Much less protein than dairy
Oatmilk Usually more calories and carbs than almondmilk Less protein than dairy; very creamy
Soymilk Between almondmilk and 2% The plant milk closest to dairy for protein
Coconutmilk Usually fewer calories than 2% Low protein; the base of the Pink Drink

Milk effects show direction only. Starbucks doesn't publish per-milk nutrition for this drink, so the calculator estimates swaps.

Syrup pumps and calories

A standard Caffè Latte has no syrup. If you add one (Vanilla, for example): Starbucks doesn't list nutrition per pump on its product pages. The figure most sites quote is about 20 calories and 5 g of sugar for one pump of a standard syrup such as Classic or Vanilla. Treat that as an estimate (unverified), not a Starbucks number. Sugar-free vanilla syrup adds almost no calories. For pump counts across the menu, see our Starbucks syrup calories per pump guide.

Lower-calorie ways to order

  • Switch to nonfat milk to cut fat while keeping the protein.
  • Choose almondmilk for the lowest-calorie milk, but expect much less protein.
  • If you add flavor, use 1–2 pumps or sugar-free vanilla.
  • Order a Tall instead of a Grande: 150 calories against 190.
