Cappuccino nutrition by size
| Size | Calories | Caffeine | Fat | Carbs | Protein | Sugar |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Short | 70 | 75mg | 2.5g | 7g | 4g | 6g |
| Tall | 100 | 75mg | 4g | 10g | 7g | 9g |
| Grande | 140 | 150mg | 5g | 14g | 9g | 12g |
| Venti | 200 | 150mg | 8g | 20g | 13g | 19g |
A Grande (16 fl oz) Starbucks Cappuccino made with 2% milk has 140 calories, 5 g fat, 12 g sugar, 9 g protein and 150 mg of caffeine. A Short is 70 calories and a Venti is 200. It has fewer calories than a latte because thick foam replaces some of the milk.
What's in a Cappuccino
A Cappuccino is espresso under a deep, stretched layer of milk foam. Short and Tall get one shot, while Grande and hot Venti get two. No syrup is included.
Milk and customization swaps
Swaps are shown as the direction of change against the standard recipe. Starbucks' product pages don't publish per-drink numbers for each swap, so check the Starbucks app or our calculator for an estimate of your exact order.
| Swap | Effect on calories | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Nonfat milk | Fewer calories and less fat | Protein stays about the same as 2% |
| Whole milk | More calories and fat | Creamier; the default in a Flat White |
| Almondmilk | Usually the lowest-calorie milk | Much less protein than dairy |
| Oatmilk | Usually more calories and carbs than almondmilk | Less protein than dairy; very creamy |
| Soymilk | Between almondmilk and 2% | The plant milk closest to dairy for protein |
| Coconutmilk | Usually fewer calories than 2% | Low protein; the base of the Pink Drink |
Milk effects show direction only. Starbucks doesn't publish per-milk nutrition for this drink, so the calculator estimates swaps.
Syrup pumps and calories
There is no syrup by default. If you add one: Starbucks doesn't list nutrition per pump on its product pages. The figure most sites quote is about 20 calories and 5 g of sugar for one pump of a standard syrup such as Classic or Vanilla. Treat that as an estimate (unverified), not a Starbucks number. Sugar-free vanilla syrup adds almost no calories. For pump counts across the menu, see our Starbucks syrup calories per pump guide.
Lower-calorie ways to order
- Ask for it "dry" (extra foam). More foam means less milk and fewer calories.
- Choose nonfat milk to keep protein while cutting fat.
- Use cinnamon powder instead of syrup for flavor without sugar.
- A Tall has 100 calories, against 140 for a Grande.
