Starbucks Iced Espresso is Signature Espresso poured over ice. A Doppio (two shots) has 10 calories and about 150 mg of caffeine, with no fat or sugar. A Solo has 5 calories and 75 mg; a Quad has 20 calories and 300 mg. Milk or syrup is where the calories come from.

What's in an Iced Espresso

It is just brewed Signature Espresso Roast shots over ice. Starbucks sells it by shot count: Solo (1 shot), Doppio (2), Triple (3) and Quad (4), per Starbucks recipe data.

Milk and customization swaps

Swaps are shown as the direction of change against the standard recipe. Starbucks' product pages don't publish per-drink numbers for each swap, so check the Starbucks app or our calculator for an estimate of your exact order.

Swap Effect on calories Notes
Blonde Espresso Roast Same calories Caffeine differs by roast; check Starbucks for your shot
Decaf espresso Same calories Much less caffeine
Add a splash of milk Adds a few calories 2% or nonfat keeps it light
Add a pump of syrup Adds calories and sugar Sugar-free vanilla adds almost none
Add cold foam Adds calories, fat and sugar Turns it into a sweet drink

Syrup pumps and calories

Iced Espresso has no syrup by default. Starbucks doesn't list nutrition per pump on its product pages. The figure most sites quote is about 20 calories and 5 g of sugar for one pump of a standard syrup such as Classic or Vanilla. Treat that as an estimate (unverified), not a Starbucks number. Sugar-free vanilla syrup adds almost no calories. For pump counts across the menu, see our Starbucks syrup calories per pump guide.

Lower-calorie ways to order

  • Drink it straight: a Doppio is 10 calories.
  • Use a splash of nonfat or 2% milk instead of cream.
  • Choose sugar-free vanilla if you want it sweet.
  • Order a Solo if you want less caffeine (75 mg).
